My takeaway from the conference:
“An incredible opportunity to reflect on huge global achievement but to assess the massive opportunity Lean In can still achieve. As a female Vice President in a large global corporation I feel proud to lead by example in taking the Lean In message through by organisation around the world and to over 100,000 people. The potential to scale adoption even more through corporate engagement is huge and it was a privilege to pay it forward with my Convergys story and as a leader who is driving Lean In Europe from NI
to the rest of the world, to the regional leaders to help them plan 2019 strategies.
The conference speaker line up was an inspiration fest from the get-go - highlights for me were Joanna Coles straight talking on having purpose and going for your ambitions, TaskRabbit Stacey Brown Philpott and her advice to circumventing imposter syndrome and not hindering your progress by thinking it’s all about you, and the resilience lessons that anyone who grew up in NI can take from the inspirational fight of Rosie Roca from SalesforceIQ.
Life and work experience through this senior executive lens aligns perfectly to the sub 20% reality if female representation. It was great to see the exec level insight from the speakers but it would be great to have even more in the audience, and that can fundamentally evolve with more engagement from corporates to the programme”
